Ready your sandbags...

Wed Jun 24, 2009, 7:34 PM
... there's a flood coming.

Meaning, I'm going to start uploading the presents I made for my friends for graduation. There's about.. 9 of them (hey, that's less than I thought there were! Woo!) I think I'll space them out, do about 3 a day, so as to not COMPLETELY flood you all at once :) So, without further ado, I'll now explain some things about these presents.

A Word About These Presents
I already told you guys, but I figured I'd write it here too.
-These origami jewelry were made completely custom for the individual, so that EVERYTHING (colors, motifs, length of necklace, size of earring, origami center piece, etc.) was in harmony with her style. But, I'm only human, and I'm not you, so I might have gotten it wrong. Let me know if I did, and tell me what you want, and I'll make you that instead :)

-I made these with the idea that they would be Christmas presents, so I made them kind of simple so that I would be able to get them all done by them. Well, obviously, that didn't work, but the simplicity still sort of stayed. That's mostly because I wanted to show off the origami, not the beads/ whatever.

SOMETHING I FORGOT TO TELL YOU GUYS
- These are origami jewelry. So, even though they have been heavily coated in a varnish to make them waterproof and more sturdy, they're not completely waterproof and completely sturdy. They need to be treated with care, k?

Oh, and the origami I used, with one exception, are all patterns created by other origamists. That's why I'm not selling any of these, because that would be bad :)

So yeah! That's the deal. Hope you like them!
Love ya! ~Kelsey

But I know a magic dolphin, swimming above the world, and in my dreams it promised me that someday I'd find my ... guy.
Hey, I'm wondering how you made the takowina in one of your bento boxes. I tried, and I failed.

all I did was take regular hot dogs (I think these were hebrew national :P), cut them in half, slice the cut ends vertically to make 8 legs, and fry them in a little bit of vegetable oil... or olive oil, I can't remember :D Then you just stick sesame seeds on as eyes after the tako have curled and browned nicely. It's not the traditional way of making them, I think, but it works, and it's easy :D

Hope that helped!
Thanks ! :3
